Among world heritage sites, there are also mixed sites, which are valued for a combination of natural and cultural heritage criteria.

    National Parks that Include World Heritage Areas
    Natural heritage: Yakushima Island, Shiretoko, Ogasawara Islands
    Cultural heritage: Setonaikai National Park (Itsukushima Shrine), Nikko National Park (Shrines and Temples of Nikko), Yoshino-Kumano National Park (Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range), Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park (Mt. Fuji).
